Create a napkin holder! Use hand-building techniques to shape it any way you want. Clouds, rainbows, bears, mountains etc.
STEPS
Using a rolling pin or an empty glass bottle, roll out the clay to a thickness of half a centimeter.
On a sheet of paper, draw and cut out the template of your desired design (we created a bear). Make sure your flat clay surface is big enough to fit your design twice, including a couple centimeters to create the base. If it doesn’t fit, roll out more clay.
Place the template on top of the clay slab and with a sharpie knife cut out the shape.
Join the two designs together with the base. Follow the steps in the video, score, wet the edges, join the pieces and smooth.
Let it dry for at least 2-3 days. Make sure you flip your project over during the drying process.
Paint your napkin holder! You can use any type of paint, acrylics, water paints and you can use markers as well.
To protect and give your napkin holder a beautiful shiny finish, we recommend varnishing it. Apply several layers of acrylic sealant.
